Band Program

2009 marks the beginning of the school band program at South Suburban Montessori. We began by offering flute, clarinet, alto sax, and trumpet. Most of the children already played dulcimer and recorder up until 3rd grade. Band is offered for 4th graders and up. Each week we have group lessons for each instrument as well as a whole band class. It sounds amazing and the response has been great! At the same school I've been teaching piano to several 4 year olds through elementary aged children with a parent in attendance.

These are South Suburban Montessori School's incoming 4th level band students. Our first session together was June 20, 2012. By the beginning of the school year, they will be comfortable playing their chosen instrument, and playing music together. Our school band includes all students in 4th-8th level.
